Tailrank is a memetracker which finds the hottest posts from millions of blogs so you don't have to!

How does it work?

We find the hottest stories by tracking conversations between blogs.

Tailrank takes into consideration linking behavior, the text of the post, links in common with other users, text relevance, weblog ranking, past performance, and various other factors for recommendations.

How does your ranking algorithm work?

Tailrank spiders millions of weblogs trying to find highly linked and discussed links and citations. We then store these in our index. Once Tailrank discovers something important it promotes it to the main website.

How many weblogs does Tailrank monitor?

Rigth now millions. Check over on Spinn3r.com to see how many we're monitoring at any given moment.

How can I get Tailrank to index my blog?

You don't need to do anything other than have other people link to and discuss your content. It generally helps to discuss content that Tailrank is already indexing. We try to only index weblogs which are on the same topic. Right now Tailrank only indexes English language weblogs so this helps out as well.

Is there a mobile version of Tailrank?

Yup. It's super cool! Just visit mobile.tailrank.com.

Can I subscribe to an RSS feed for Tailrank?

Yup. All our pages have RSS feeds including the home page, search, etc.

Can I view the cluster for a URL within tailrank?

Yup. Just enter the URL in the search box.

I'm a developer. Does Tailrank have an API?

Yes. And it's documented here. If you're a developer and have feedback don't hesitate to contact us. We'll be shipping additional APIs soon. If you have any ideas please let us know.

Could you explain more about your robot?

Tailrank uses a 'robot' to monitor weblogs for changes. We have a full FAQ for our robot here.

So who built this thing anyway?

Tailrank is a small startup based out of San Francisco which has plenty of cool ideas and too much free time. The original version was written by Kevin Burton and we're currently expanding our team.
