Since McCain's Convention CEO and one of his campaign's regional managers resigned when it came out that they had been lobbying for the government of Myanmar, I figured it was only a matter of time before more information about the clients of the many lobbyists who populate the McCain campaign began to come out. And lo! here's a rundown on some of them.
I'm going to concentrate on Charlie Black. He's generally described as McCain's chief political advisor. He was the chair of BKSH & Associates, a lobbying firm, until last month, when he announced he was stepping down to work on McCain's campaign fulltime.

We blogged the other day about how two McCain staffers, including one who was supposed to run the Republican convention in Minneapolis, were booted from the campaign because they had lobbied for the repressive military junta in Burma.
Turns out, the staffer who was supposed to run the convention, Doug Goodyear, was actually McCain's second choice. His first choice was Paul Manafort ( naturally, a lobbyist ), who had to be removed from consideration because he too had lobbied for authoritarian figures , specifically Philippine dictator Ferdinand Marcos and former Ukrainian prime minister Viktor Yanukovich.

has this right. Read it. It's embarrassing in the extreme, the way the press has anointed Mr. Maverick Straight Talk of the Lobbyist Express as the one person in national politics willing to deviate from prostitution. And I won't count Obama in the pure club, either, since I largely agree with this .
