Romney may not have gotten the memo, but it's nice to see Blunt conceding the point. McCain is promising more of Bush's economic agenda -- unaffordable massive tax cuts for the rich that offer no help for the average family .
The McCain economic agenda includes: $1.7 trillion tax cut for corporations, $300 billion a year in tax cuts that aren't paid for , and a plan that delivers 58 percent of the benefits to the top 1 percent of taxpayers and only 9 percent to the bottom 80 percent.
All this coming from a man who once said he " cannot in good conscience support a tax cut in which so many of the benefits go to the most fortunate among us.
Late Edition: Roy Blunt Confirms McCain is Third Bush Term: "And I think that's a good thing"
crooksandliars.comFound 4 days, 11 hours, 38 minutes, and 33 seconds agoBless his little heart, let's have House Minority Whip Roy Blunt on every week to talk up John McCain's candidacy! Talk about living within a bubble, Blunt thinks nothing of touting the McSame presidency as a Bush third term, despite the record disapproval rating for the man and the vast majority ...

The nation's bad mood worsens :
Public disgruntlement neared a record high and President Bush slipped to his career low in the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll.
Eighty-two percent of Americans now say the country's seriously off on the wrong track, up 10 points in the last year to a point from its record high in polls since 1973. And 31 percent approve of Bush's job performance overall, while 66 percent disapprove.
The country's mood -- and the president's ratings -- are suffering from the double whammy of an unpopular war and a faltering economy.

he was once one of Gingrich's felch monkeys, mind you. It's something you don't just gloss over. But on the other hand one doesn't leave the GOP and become a member of the Libertarian Party because one feels it's really going to light a fire under one's career in Washington, now, does one. One feels his commitment to libertarian principles is reasonably genuine, otherwise he'd just have stayed where he was.

As a rule, Republicans are supposed to disagree with the Democrats' central criticism of the GOP presidential candidate. But if Blunt & Co. want to tell national television audiences that we're right, I couldn't be more pleased.

Think Progress has a great catch. Mitt Romney on CNN earlier today:
BLITZER: Does John McCain want to continue what Obama called the failed policies of the Bush administration?
ROMNEY: Well I think you're going to hear that time and again, Wolf, throughout the campaign season. And I just don't think it's going to stick.
McCain surrogate Rep. Roy Blunt (R-MO) in the same program:
BLITZER: So it would be in effect a third Bush term when it came to pro-growth tax policies?
BLUNT: It would be.

Think Progress found a major discrepancy between two McCain surrogates, Mitt Romney and Roy Blunt. Both were in CNN's Late Edition this morning-- but with very different messages about what NcCain would be if-- God forbid-- he ever got to the White House. Romney claims McCain will be a big change from the failed and hated policies of the Bush Regime. Blunt, perhaps more honest than Willard would ever be, admits that McCain is just the same snake oil in another vial:

On both domestic and foreign policies, McWAR will most likely follow in Fredo's footsteps. Now, what does Gallup find about the weaknesses of McWAR and Obama? (Via Thers ) That McCain and Obama have both been hurt by their associations, the first with Bush, the latter with Jeremiah Wright.
