For decades, evangelicals have been seen as solid supporters of the Republican Party. That could be changing.

The headline :
'Raw Politics': Religious right leaning toward Democrats?
Which should immediately start your head to spinning seeing as how much spinning is done in the article itself:
For decades, evangelicals have been seen as solid supporters of the Republican Party. That could be changing.
The religious right, a cornerstone of the so-called Reagan revolution -- the battle over abortion law, and gay marriage -- wants a change. Read the rest of this entry »

"'Raw Politics': Religious right leaning toward Democrats?" is the headline; the reader is then informed:
"Raw Politics" on "Anderson Cooper 360″ delivers the latest political news with a wry sense of a humor and without spin.
The humor part may be true, as the "without spin" part is so laughably false. The top graphs of the article:

CNN has a story that I'm highly skeptical of: WASHINGTON (CNN) -- For decades, evangelicals have been seen as solid supporters of the Republican Party. That could be changing.

They're leaving in droves - but where they're headed is harder to tell. Bottom line:
"I just keep thinking, if Jesus were alive now, he wouldn't necessarily
be voting Republican." More here.

Earlier we mentioned how some in the Republican Party are calling for some long overdue self-examination . John McCain, even more than the congressional incumbents, has to examine how the GOP has gotten so out of step with American voters on so many issues. One of the sleaziest lobbyists driving the Double Talk Express explains that "Nobody ever gets elected president by running on their party label.

I ran across a couple interesting articles ( here and here ) that seems to be saying that the "Religious Right" is heading over to vote for the Democrats this November.
I don't buy it. A few young Christians who have been duped by emotional pleas or who actually believe in something called "social justice" does not a movement make.

I know I have been posting quite a bit on this race but it is changing so fast I can't keep up.
Even the evangelicals are coming out for Obama - so will that offset the "White - hard working "white" Americans?
It would seem so as they are the very Reagenites that Obama will need for him to take the swing states.
The religious right, a cornerstone of the so-called Reagan revolution -- the battle over abortion law, and gay marriage -- wants a change.
At least some evangelicals do.
A group of influential Christian leaders are declaring they are tired of divisive politics, tired of watching fights over some issues trump all the good they could be doing.
