Not sure the moving of the troubled Tom Cruise film to 2009 is new news, but the article itself is new, much tougher than the others, and suggests the whole of United Artists is now in trouble :
The film is not only a blow to Cruise as an actor but in his more recent incarnation as a movie mogul at United Artists (UA), the studio which made the film.

Adorable Suri got all dressed up to accompany her parents and siblings to Saturday's LA Galaxy home game against the New York Red Bulls. It was quite the kidfest around Tom and Katie - not only did Connor and Isabella come out for the match too, but all three Beckham boys had their eyes glued on daddy. Unfortunately, the Galaxy lost the game 2-1. The only one missing for the pre- Mother's Day get together was Victoria who was on her way to London. It looks like the cheering crowd may have gotten a bit loud for little Suri but the little fashionista didn't stay upset for long.

The state of California faces a projected budget deficit of around $15 billion, almost $400 for every man, woman and child in the state. Localities face financial difficulties due to property taxes falling as properties purchased at the height of the real estate bubble have had their taxable values revised downwards. The Governator launched a trial balloon about increasing the base for the sales tax by including services and other previously exempt items. (I'm not opposed to increasing the goods and services covered by the sales tax if the rate would go down to maintain revenue neutrality).

I've been watching this movie go through all these various production problems and it's pissing me off because this is one of the few movies I was looking forward to seeing. And I cannot help that with the Germans complaining it's Tom Cruise portraying Claus von Stauffenberg and the fact it might be a war movie that doesn't bomb elements of the left are trying to hold it back. Sadly it would be one of those movies where you would learn about history because until I read up on him I didn't know much about von Stauffberg.

or maybe it was the scene where Cruise screams into the phone, "Show me the Reichsmarks!"
Then again, maybe it was the clip where he's walking along with Rommel and yells, "I feel the need, the need for MACH SCHNELL, SCHNELL!"

Tom Cruise, wife Katie Holmes and and kids Isabella, 15, Connor, 13 and Suri, 2 in tow, watch David Beckham play soccer this past weekend. Tom and Katie also did a bit of babysitting for Victoria and David, watching over the kids, Brooklyn, 9, Romeo, 5, and Cruz, 3.
Sadly for David and his celebrity supporters the Bulls defeated the Galaxy 2-1. Speaking of defeats, Tom's movie Valkyrie's release date has been pushed back again .
The movie, based on a true story in which Cruise plays a Nazi planning to kill Adolph Hitler, had already been pushed to autumn despite the initial release being set for this summer.

has been postponed (for a second time) until an unspecified release date in 2009:
The film is not only a blow to Cruise as an actor but in his more recent incarnation as a movie mogul at United Artists (UA), the studio which made the film.
One critic in Hollywood has declared "Valkyrie is dead", with another arguing that the film's problems could also wreck the revival of UA.

I have to admit, I was looking forward to "Valkyrie," Bryan Singer's film about the plot to assassinate Adolph Hitler in 1944. Yes, I'm aware that the film stars Tom Cruise, but the remaining cast, Bill Nighy, Kenneth Branagh and Tom Wilkinson was intriguing. The film also re-united Singer with Christopher McQuarrie, his screenwriter from "The Usual Suspects."
The Sunday Times now reports that the film has been pushed to 2009. Originally scheduled for a summer 2008 release, the film received its first pushbackto the fall earlier this year.
