It is expected that Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende will give a response to Wilders' action later tonight. "Fitna" contains images of the terror attack on the Twin Towers, the bombing of railway station Atocha in Madrid and the murder of director Theo van Gogh in Amsterdam.

In the film Wilders attributes the murder and violence committed by Muslims in the name of Islam to Islam and the Koran. The film therefore does not distinguish between Islam and Islamism, asserting that the distinction is false.
Taking issue with the film , and seeking to head off a wave of Muslim violence inspired by it, Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende felt compelled to weigh in at a news conference held at the Hague:

"Wilders is arguing against an important and dangerous ideological movement; my sense is that his approach is well within bounds of legitimate criticism. Okay, Geert Wilders' movie Fitna is finally online. It was posted sometime yesterday and the English version has already been viewed over two million times. As I write this the Dutch version is at 2.5 million views. Talk about word-to-mouth!
First, the good news. Wilders did not do anything really stupid and really irresponsible like tear up or otherwise damage or deface the Koran. In other words, there is no reason whatsoever why someone should want to kill him or anybody else over this*. Besides, it turns out there already has been more than enough ado about nothing.

I just watched Dutch right-winger, Geert Wilders' film, Fitna, The Movie . He had promised it to be too shocking, too frightening, too disturbing and much of the world was holding its breath in morbid, anxious, wait for its release. The media feared rabid violence by those Muslims.

It's a much more professional production than i had been expecting.
Geert Wilders is either a very brave or a very suicidal man.
It is quite likely to provoke a wider and more violent reaction than the cartoons.
It doesn't pull any punches and is very graphic.

Geert Wilder's film doesn't show us anything we haven't seen or read before. It doesn't provide enough information to show proof that the Quran is directly responsible for the terrorist acts that are graphically depicted. It concentrates mostly on the religious leaders who have supported terrorism while ignoring the political systems and the laws that also support it. The hysteria about growing Muslim populations is also misleading - it also ignores the fact that many countries with large Muslim populations do a better job of fighting the extremists in their midsts than the Netherlands does.

You can watch Fitna , Geert Wilders' controversial movie on LiveLeak here (in English). It's a pretty unsubtle 15 minutes of Huntingtonian, 'Clash of Civilisations' rabble-rousing with little to commend it. Any right-thinking Muslim would dismiss it out of hand, or use it as a tool for pushing the moderate Islamic agenda, but unfortunately we know that's not going to happen.
It would have been useful for Wilders' to have explored the nature of fitna , variously translated from Arabic as internal strife, division or schism within the ulema , rather than using it, apparently, as a metaphor for the rift in Dutch life.

Every once in a while, I pop into the "Say Anything" blog , just because I need a maleable rightist that I don't have to constantly point and laugh at.
Anyway, the peeps there initially posted that Fitna movie for viewing and discussion. Then the video company that hosted it, LiveLeak, pulled it due to "serious" threats to their staff .
So now, of course, it's all over YouTube , and Google Video has it as well. How long will the video be up on those sites? Who knows? Maybe Sergei Brin will give in due to a phoned-in bomb threat from a disgruntled iman?

It was released on the net only two days ago but due to its anti-islamic nature and the reaction/threats from various Muslim groups it has been pulled off of many sites. One site put this message after taking the film off. However, I did find the movie here:

First, I believe there are those that are peaceful Muslims. But just as Christians have sects that fight each other, Muslims have violent types as well.
Yesterday, a video was released that depicted violence juxtaposed with text of the Qur'an and quotations of spectacularly non-peaceful Muslims. It was placed on LiveLeak.com, but after they received many death threats, the video was pulled off. The removal statement byLiveLeak is rather chilling. What is sad, is that those that find it offensive I can understand, but those that threaten to kill people because of the offense only prove that the video is at least partially true.

LiveLeak , who originally released the video, now has removed it because of the death threats. Here is their official statement (via LGF , also available from their site, where the movie used to be ):
Following threats to our staff of a very serious nature, and some ill informed reports from certain corners of the British media that could directly lead to the harm of some of our staff, Liveleak.com has been left with no other choice but to remove Fitna from our servers.
This is a sad day for freedom of speech on the net but we have to place the safety and well being of our staff above all else.

Back to Ivins, now that he's dead the FBI is claiming Case Closed. They're saying that he was the Sole Custodian of the flask of anthrax spores that was traced back through DNA testing. This is a total lie. Spores from that flask were sent to a variety of medical and college establishments, other people came and went from the lab, and there is nothing whatever tying him to the mailing of the letters nor can he be placed in the city where they were mailed.

Google has killed leading Anti-Scientology activism website Enburbulation.Org's AdSense account .
"While going through our records recently, we found that your AdSense account has posed a significant risk to our AdWords advertisers," read Google's letter to Enturbulation, a kind of home base for the now famous Anonymous movement. "Since keeping your account in our publisher network may financially damage our advertisers in the future, we've decided to disable your account."
Of course, it's not Enturbulation's fault that Google was serving the site pro-Scientology ads.
