It was easier/faster to solder the 5v red cable to mainboard. Thanks for the Video, great Work, i´m thinking about doing it for myself too. They have a good line in the iPhone and iPod now and those are both ARM-based devices.

We recently saw an Eee PC that was modded to add touchscreen functionality, however we had a little disappointment about the lack of details. Now those details have been posted in a nice video form.
Basically you will need to purchase a touchscreen and USB controller, it was also mentioned that while there are many options available, a kit was suggested that way you would be able to get both parts together. In this installation the USB controller was mounted in place of the left speaker, but with some work there are other places and options for mounting.

- Warner Crocker We posted about jkk of jkkmobile's adventures adding a touchscreen to the Asus EeePC the other day. For those who want to dig a little deeper and perhaps add their own, jkk has put up a video of his process .

jkmobile added a touch screen to his Eee PC and he's posted a video showing how to do it. He was able to find a properly sized after-market touch panel that could be fitted on top of the stock screen just behind the bezel. It then connects to the PC using a USB connection, which he was able to completely hide by soldering the connector directly to the motherboard's USB pins.
I wasn't aware that these touch panels were readily available. It looks like this mod could be easily adapted to just about any laptop model.
