Mark Bittman is a genius… Not all these recipes sound that great to me, but getting 101 of anything in a single article is a bargain! In all seriousness, so many of our clients are looking for ways to make powerful connections with their audiences online. The New York Times proves over and over again that the quality of this connection is directly proportional to the quality of the content and experience provided.

. His omnivorousness, accessibility, good humor, and basic message of culinary empowerment fit into the gastrokid philosophy quite well. If you can Cook Everything in a Minimalist manner, you're bound to achieve that ineffable trifecta of satsifying yourself, your family, and the time constraints of family life at the dinner table.

): he's sensible about cooking and speaks my language. And here's a great column in the NY Times today: The pleasures of cooking are sometimes obscured by summer haze and heat, which can cause many of us to turn instead to bad restaurants and worse takeout. But the cook with a little bit of experience has a wealth of quick and easy alternatives at hand.

The New York Times lists 101 meals you can make in minutes with little time in front of the stove/oven in order to keep your cool during these hot weeks. Some are ok, but others are just plain weird. points to a new article from Mark Bittman, 101 Simple Meals . His book, How to Cook Everything , is one of my favorites when I do get around to cooking. I wish L. liked seafood- many of these recipes sound SO good, but there's no way she'd eat them. She now tries the seafood I get when we go out to eat, but there's no way she'll ever be a fan.

and 101 Simple Meals . I don't think they're much related, save by their focus on simplicity. I've had just enough success growing herbs and simple vegetables like tomatoes and beans to want to try the first. Small spaces are apparently not a barrier, which is good, since most of the arable land in the back yard is dedicated to the exercise of small children and the crapping of the dog.

Well, the food section was not so bad this week. I've been curious about P*ong for a while, that article about plastic bags was just peachy, and there was even a recipe for homemade maraschino cherries ! And Melissa Clark even made them for the express purpose of garnishing her Manhattan - a woman after my own heart.
